Fani-Kayode Ex-minister will remain in EFCC custody for 2 weeks

Fani-Kayode Ex-minister will remain in EFCC custody for 2 weeks
The former minister of aviation Femi Fani Kayode will remain in the custody of the Economics and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for next two weeks.

This will happen due to the agency possession of a remand order which will allow them to detain Fani-Kayode for the given time or more

The former minister is facing charges of money laundering and is alleged to have received N840 million in looted funds while participating in the re-election campaign of former president, Goodluck Jonathan

An EFCC source told the Premium Time. “Besides the N840m that Fani-Kayode admitted to receiving, we believe he got more. Thanks to BVN (Bank Verification Number), we can trace all other accounts that he has. We will trace the transaction history and see how much he truly received and how much was from the public funds,”

“There are other petitions against the former minister and he will be grilled. In the coming days, we will reveal the outcome of investigations. The issue of a witch-hunt does not apply here. Fani-Kayode faced a criminal trial under (late President Umaru) Yar’Adua and (former President Goodluck) Jonathan. Did it mean they also hated him?” the detective said.

Meanwhile, the EFCC has frozen Fani-Kayode’s bank account due to the allegations.
